A black female posted an article reposted from a blog by Cory Alexander Haywood listed below:

In this travel group on Facebook,(Nomad-ness Travel) the black women who read this article did not deconstruct it with logic, see it for what it was(a conversation piece wherein generalizations are used to get black men and women to discussing "interracial" relationships, an already incendiary topic), they went on the attack.

Personal insults, vitriol, anger, viciousness were the order of the day as the response to this ONE black man's blog. The level of viciousness is never higher than when black women are criticized, no matter the topic. Black males can be thrown under the bus with frequency and regularity akin to rush hour in a major city when it comes to topics related to us.

Are black women so above reproach that they cannot even withstand ANY critique, whether justified or not????

When I asked several of the black women who were launching personal attacks against the guy to give a cogent, coherent argument in response without emotion to his blog, they turned their sights on me personally.

It got nasty.

One woman, who was nearly 275lbs. with a haircut no longer than mine, began attempting to call me an "internet troll"  


I fired back with statistics about 80% of black women being classified as "obese" and going in on her personally to show her that if you want to get personal, you PICKED THE RIGHT DUDE TO TRY IT WITH.


She backed off slowly with every wig snatching read I shot her way. Some other gal named Kia Richards tried to back her up and was even more vicious. I asked her if she was a bitch(are you a bitch?I don't recall saying anything to you and yet you called me a "loser", Fag"  and other names in my inbox)...., and she immediately retreated after that, when I asked her if she was a bitch and pointed out she was named after the cheapest car on the market, but wants me to treat her like a queen. After one of the admins, a woman with a penis who identified itself as Jason Francis, deleted me, I began putting dots together...

Most of the negative customer service I see in person happens occurs when black women are the cashiers.

Nasty, rude, overbearing, mean, aggressive, bossy, shrill behavior that has no place in a customer service context.

Obviously all black women are not like this, but my need to preface my critique with such remarks shows how  vitriolic and illogical the ones that are can be.

Let's face it: The black community is a matriarchy, and there are far too many black women who feel that blistering attacks on black men with whom they disagree on ANYTHING is "cute" and acceptable. Ask for logic and with each response, they devolve five years until kindergarten viciousness is their norm. When Iyanla Vanzant said black women were "out of order" months ago, even she was attacked with hatred by her own sisters.

Whether I agree or disagree with even a word of dude's article, my merely asking for logic got me attacked as if I were him so let's have at it. Black women use black men as verbal punching bags in these incendiary debates, yet the minute a brother fights back, far too many play "victim" and act as though they did nothing wrong.

I'm sick of nasty, rude, shrill, disrespectful sisters in customer service positions thinking that they can treat black male patrons like dirt, but if a white male comes in( and I have witnessed this) and calls them a bitch, they have the classic Negro Bed Wench look of hurt and rejection in their eyes, as if their master did not validate them.


BLACK WOMEN.

YOU NEED TO PULL NASTY "BITCH" ATTITUDE OUT OF YOU AND THROW IT AWAY, HOWEVER.

Hey guys! Just had a conversation on Facebook with two white ladies, whose husbands are currently serving time in prison, and I made the following statement: "In some cities, a white male with a felony conviction and high school education has a better chance of getting a job than a black male with no felony conviction and a college degree". 


WHY DID I GO AND SAY THAT?!?!?!?!? LMAO!!! We will call the two white girls "Becky" and Amy". Here is some data to back up my statement:

 "You may remember the 2003 University of Chicago study by Devah Pager that sent young white and black “testers” with randomly assigned “felony convictions” to apply for low-wage jobs. The study found that whites with felonies were more likely to be called for interviews than black applicants without criminal records. Eight years later, black male unemployment has hit the highest rate since the government began keeping track in 1972.

 It is estimated that only 56.9 percent of black men over age 20 are working, and the prospects for them to earn an honest living anytime soon in this crumbling economy are not good.

 While Obama battles the GOP over raising the debt ceiling and preserving “sacred cow” tax cuts and entitlement programs, the unemployed poor are becoming increasingly desperate. Of particular concern is the reality that the once-supportive family members who used to serve as safety nets for struggling felons are now losing their jobs and homes in record numbers. The safety net exists no more.

 According to an analysis of Federal Reserve data by the Economic Policy Institute in 2004, the median net worth of white households was $134,280, compared with $13,450 for black households. By 2009, the median net worth for white households had fallen 24 percent to $97,860; the median black net worth had fallen 83 percent to $2,170. And, no, that is not a typo. 

Algernon Austin, director of the Economic Policy Institute’s Program on Race, Ethnicity and the Economy describes the wealth gap like this, “In 2009, for every dollar of wealth the average white household had, black households only had two cents.” Two cents. Really? If anyone has the audacity to suggest to me that having a black president means America is now “post racial,” I will have to hold myself back. And, speaking of remaining nonviolent in the face of violent oppression… If there has ever been a reason to march on Washington, it is right the hell now."

"Becky", whose husband is in prison for ten years(side bar: when a white male goes to prison, with white privilege and male privilege on his side and he STILL fucks up and gets a ten year prison sentence,and has no education, I tend to feel even less sympathy for them.) ARGUED ME UP AND DOWN that "it isn't about race". Easy for her as a poor trailer park white girl whose husband got busted for running a meth lab in his basement.


 Black men make up 6% of the population, yet account for 51% of all jail and prison inmates. There are more black people now, under correctional control, then WERE SLAVES IN 1850.

 "Amy", whose husband also got locked up and is serving hard time, came to Becky's defense....(to be expected when an educated black male shuts one of them down in an argument with FACTS.) I politely told Amy that I stand by my words 100% and if you cannot comprehend them, then its her problem, not mine. (I gave up trying to convince white people of anything racial a long time ago; they pretend to be in denial and play the "I'm not racist, so why bring up race?" routine. SMH.) (i also told Amy where she should go since she was getting rude and bitchy at this point, and to give you a hint, the Sun doesn't shine there.....)




To be honest, I can halfway see their point.(NOT). They are married to white males who are convicted felons. Languishing in prison. Maybe to them, this is the norm in Oklahoma or Kansas. They are probably the poor, uneducated whites who watch Fox News, buy guns, and drive dusty pick up trucks. Their inability to not take advantage of white privilege in a system of white dominance, may make them feel shafted by the system. Or maybe they are just trailer trash with no clue what is going on. Who knows.... Oh well....Take care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY OPEN LETTER TO DON LEMON: GET A CLUE!

Dear Don Lemon,

I watched with some measure of astonishment and amazement at your attempt recently to cosign Bill O'Reilly's generalizations about the Black community.(Black is capitalized on purpose.) To begin, I am also a black gay male such as yourself, who is college educated, and a published author. I grew up in many of the same neighborhoods you generalized in your rant. In fact, I grew up 6 blocks from Michelle Obama, our First Lady's, childhood home.

Although she and I are ten years apart in age, we attended the same elementary school and high school here in Chicago. The "low income",  neighborhood( it's hilarious that when white people are poor, they call the area, "working class", but when blacks are at the same income level, we are called "low income") She and I grew up in, was at times gang infested; it wasn't Cabrini Green by any stretch of the imagination, but it probably wasn't the nice middle class environment you were raised in.


Your tone deaf analysis of the condition of black people is a specious argument, at best. I say specious, because on the surface, it appears to make perfect sense. Upon evaluation, however, there are deep flaws that must be brought to your attention. You failed to mention the multi generational cycles of poverty brought about during the late 1960's through the 1970's that continues and has spiraled out of control in many black urban areas. This is important to note, because this is not the first time that high crime, murder and the like has permeated urban areas in the United States. In the 1920's, Irish and other immigrants were marginalized within white society and lived in deep pockets of urban poverty. If you watch "Gangs of New York", it chronicles, albeit theatrically, the gang violence of that era.

Sound familiar?

Gang violence, poverty, ethnic on ethnic crime and murder?

The Government's response was not to incarcerate, criminalize and demonize these immigrants. On the contrary, they realized that opening doors to education, the ability to procure employment or even start your own businesses, were better solutions. You can't even name a Jewish "ghetto" today, can you? It isn't because they "pulled themselves up by their bootstraps", Mr. Lemon. They had help.

No one sat on a radio lecturing them about "personal responsibility". No one talked about the disproportionally high birth rates among those marginalized immigrants. You,however, in your cosigning with an avowed race baiter like O'Reilly, showed exactly how much you simply don't get it.

Russell Simmons compared sagging jeans to Afro's and dashiki's. You responded by pointing out that Afro's and dashiki's were symbols of black cultural pride. Indeed they were. However, his point flew completely over your head.

Let me explain.

In the late 1960's through the 1970's law enforcement viewed Afro's and dashikis with contempt. Such contempt, in fact, that they routinely profiled, stopped and searched persons wearing these symbols of "cultural pride". The Black Panthers, for whom the style is most widely known and associated, were deemed "The most dangerous terrorist organization in the United States" by J. Edgar Hoover of the FBI.

That is correct, Mr. Lemon. They were viewed as militant criminal threats, and anyone-i mean anyone, male or female, rocking that style, may have been stopped and "frisked" by the police, had their phones wire tapped, and seen as a danger and menace to society.

Sort of like how young black men who sag their pants today are seen. That was Russell Simmons point.


I take it that your grasp of history got lost when white America accepted you as a gay man.  A general rule of thumb, is to stay out of race based discussions if your experience cannot speak accurately and effectively for those most marginalized. I pray that going forward, you follow that advice and stay in your lane.

SO...WHAT NOW DO WE TELL OUR BLACK YOUNG MEN...?

So.....

What now do we tell young black men?

That you can't be seen in a multi racial neighborhood after twilight, even if you are unarmed and only carrying Skittles and Arizona Iced Tea?

You can't wear a hoodie, because people will see you as a thug.....?

Possessing marijuana is seen to make you look more aggressive and sinister, even though most weed is used by whites in America and everyone with an IQ over 13 knows that weed makes you sleepy, hungry and horny?

That you need to speak to police in an extra humble way, because of all the cases of INNOCENT black men murdered for "appearing" to have a weapon, or beaten for "looking menacing"?

What do we tell black boys?

That there are rules carved out, just for you, that limit your expression, that modulate YOUR behavior, that society says implicitly, silently, that we must follow, but no one else has to follow...?


Do I want to raise a black boy in a world that views him as a threat no matter what he does, says, walks, wears,or behaves? That every moment of his public existence he must watch how firmly he speaks, because "creepy ass crackers" will see him and may shoot him for standing up for HIMSELF, AND STANDING HIS OWN GROUND?

What do we tell our young black men....?


This is not a facetious question, or one of sarcasm......

If a boy cannot walk back to his father without being gunned down...cannot walk down the street without being "stopped and frisked",cannot wear this, cannot wear that, cannot wear this, cannot do that cannot speak too firmly to a white or other person,

Cannot...

Then tell me what year we function in? What country we live in? Because the only time that a group of people are singled out and told they "cannot" do so many things, was in Jim Crow Segregation and slavery....

Even when they obey your laws, you still kill them in cold blood and walk away free...

Even when they ascend to the Presidency of the United States, you demonize him as a terrorist, a Hitler-figure, and all manner of vicious, sophomoric names...

So tell me America.....

What do you want me to tell my young male cousins or teenage nephew?

Because if I can't tell him to do his best, get good grades, walk the streets without a weapon, stand up for himself in the face of injustice,and live his life in the same way people who are classified as white do...without still being slaughtered for no reason...

Then you are telling me to prepare him to be a slave.

To prepare him to walk as an inferior, talk as an inferior, modulate every movement, watch every step, look six ways before crossing, do not resist police brutality, do not question anything....no matter what...

You are asking me to raise black boys to "stay in their place"...like good "niggers" do...

Then how much have you changed?

What do I tell a black boy when he sees white boys concoct all manner of drugs, including meth(Tina),mushrooms, illicit drugs, prescription drugs,illegal drugs, drugs that haven't even been classified yet.... and stands a far better chance of being able to do it without being targeted or punished....?

I am going to tell black boys that this country sees him as the enemy....and everyone responsible for maintaining "order" has a bullseye on his chest...

You know, right where Trayvon was shot. In the heart.

Excuse me if I don't salute this flag, steeped in the blood of my ancestors....

Excuse me if I don't spout patriotic jargon and rhetoric about how "great" this nation is.

I can't tell a black young man to love this country....I can only tell him to be careful and watch out for it.

MY OPEN LETTER TO MONA SCOTT-YOUNG REGARDING "LOVE AND HIP HOP"!!!

Dear Mrs. Scott-Young,


My name is Hassan Hartley, and I had the unfortunate displeasure of watching the rank, repugnant coon-fest that you produce called "Love and Hip Hop", in which you profit mightily and heavily from casting people, particularly Black and Latino folks,(my folk) in the worst possible light. You, along with other cutthroats like Shaunie O'Neal, Wendy Williams, and Andy Cohen, have fed millions a pathological diet of ratchet, ignorant, stereotypical imagery mainly centered around black women, chiefly being angry, bitter, uneducated, catty, bitchy and conniving with each other,while the men are cast as oversexed, unfaithful, dishonest, anti-intellectual(think: stupid) deviants that cannot fulfill even the most basic of obligations to their spouses/mates.

As an openly gay man, I am equally disgusted by the imagery of "my kind" on your shows(albeit brief imagery-blink and you may miss the finger popping, effeminate, flamboyant stereotype of a Funky Dineva-although funny as hell) that perpetuates a false narrative that black gay men's chief desire is to be a sassy, flip mouthed black woman. Turning black gay men into the new Mammy figures of reality TV is not cute.

I understand that you are not the network owner. VH1, along with MTV, BET and a host of other media outlets, are owned by Viacom, and Viacom is owned by the very wealthy and Jewish Redstone family. You may be nothing more than a mere pawn in a game far bigger than your imagination and intellect can comprehend. I get that. I also  understand the "get that paper, make those coins, make that money" aspect of television. No one is "hating" on you for being a financially successful, strong willed, capable  black woman in a white/Jewish dominated entertainment industry. We need more sisters(and brothers) on their hustle. Their grind. My issue is with the content and imagery, not your business acumen.

What bothers me, after watching your "reunion" special, is how you seemed to be feeding the discord and strife between these women for ratings...you are not an unfamiliar kind of black person to me. I have studied Negroes like you for most of my life. See, there were blacks like you, who, in the 1500's, sold others into the worst chattel slavery the world has ever known, for sheer profit. There were blacks like you who, while on the plantation, sought the favor of their white masters so much that you would be his informant, should any uprising occur. There were blacks like you, who in the 1960's infiltrated both Civil Rights and Black Nationalist organizations to sow discord and strife, for your individual profit, as well as your bosses collective gain.

I have decided to spotlight you and your program, along with several others, in my upcoming book, "THE NEW MINSTREL SHOW: COONERY AND BUFFOONERY IN 21ST CENTURY BLACK ENTERTAINMENT" under the chapter dealing with the "21st Century Sapphire/Negro Bed Wench Syndrome"...I will use footage from some of these shows-maybe even yours-in the interactive e-book edition of the book to highlight the ratchet mess that television has become.
